Honestly, Avi’s downfall feels like a slow-motion car crash we all saw coming. I’ve been following him since under 10k subs too, back when his travel videos actually had soul. Yeah, they look a little boring if you rewatch them now, but at the time, they had charm and authenticity.
COVID wasn’t the death of his channel—ironically, that’s when he peaked. The real decline started when he brought his wife into the mix. She clearly couldn’t handle Avi’s style of budget backpacking. Always unwell, always halting trips midway, and in the process, killing the very vibe that made his channel special. The audience picked up on it immediately—this wasn’t the same Avi anymore.
Then came the inconsistency and the cringe clickbait. Every other month it’s “Swathi pregnant ano?” or “Njan ini regular avum,” like some broken record. Meanwhile, she moves to the UAE, starts posting reels with her “boss,” and the comment sections are flooded with “Avi aayi issue ano?” and “Avi evide?” It’s messy, it’s transparent, and it’s painful to watch.
And the cherry on top? Both of them dropping the same clickbait titles like “njangal perinjo?” as if viewers won’t notice they’re basically running parallel soap operas instead of actual travel content. At this point, Avi’s channel isn’t about travel, it’s about damage control and desperation.
Sad to say it, but the downfall wasn’t COVID, wasn’t YouTube saturation—it was letting his personal life derail his passion. And the audience checked out the moment he stopped being the Avi they subscribed for.
